With every photo session, I make sure to get the "smiling" + posed shots (because those are important!). Yet I believe that the best portraits are the ones that tell a story, capturing real interactions and heartfelt emotions. My overall approach is relaxed - I want your experience to be fun + easy, so that your family can interact and be yourselves, while I capture the beauty of your relationships. I constantly strive to capture the fleeting moments so that they can become your timeless memories.

I am a portrait photographer who specializes in family, newborn + maternity sessions. My style is timeless, fresh, and playful - and I love gorgeous light. I have a degree in Fashion and taught high school Fashion Marketing for years before this, and believe that the styling choices in your photos contribute greatly to the final outcome (that's why I always include a Session Prep Guide with wardrobe tips + offer my assistance!). I want your photos to be classic enough to hang on the walls of your home forever, and am honored to help you create them!

Patrick and I got married in March and then in May I officially launched Sweet Pea Photography! I left my lab tech job and focused 100% on growing my business!

I loved my job as a lab tech, but longed for a creative hobby! Michael got me a camera for Christmas and I fell in love with taking pictures of my sweet nieces and nephews!

My four daughters are truly a dream come true. Motherhood is my favorite part of my life + also the hardest - it's brought me more joy and stretched me in more ways than I ever could have imagined. My little women are my why, watching them grow so quickly has shown me how important documenting each season of life really is.

I met my husband in 10th grade Math class, I was wearing my cheerleading uniform the day that he noticed me + we started passing notes the rest of the year! I never could have imagined this life we have built all those years ago. He has always supported all my crazy ideas + big dreams, this business would not be a reality without him.

I have a degree in Fashion Merchandising + never "planned" on being a teacher, but it fell in my lap after moving to my hometown after college. Teaching high school brought me so much joy for many years! I have now captured photos for many of my former students, which is such a fun full circle moment.

I have loved all the aesthetic things since I was a little girl, and both fashion + interior design are still huge passions of mine. If I am not hanging with my family or photographing someone else's, I am probably planning my next home project - my favorite rooms to decorate are definitely my kids spaces!

Other than capturing my own kids, I first learned the basics of photography by working with many different brands. My work has been featured on many websites and marketing materials for some of my favorite companies - it's really such an honor! I still work with a couple of them, but have mostly transitioned to family photography.
